Evertec discloses attempted $130 million unauthorized transactions from Sinqia S.A.
Initial DisclosureOn September 2, 2025, Evertec disclosed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that hackers breached Sinqia S.A.'s systems on August 29 and attempted unauthorized transactions in the company's Pix environment. The disclosure said part of the $130 million had already been recovered, access to Pix had been revoked by the Central Bank of Brazil, and no evidence showed personal data exposure beyond Sinqia's Pix environment.
