FBI and CISA warn that the Russian intelligence services-linked Signal phishing campaign has evolved from stealing verification codes, account PINs, and linked-device access to eliciting victims' Backup Recovery Keys through impersonated Signal support messages. If a target provides the key, attackers can restore Signal's Secure Backups on their own devices and read historical messages, including private and group conversations, while the campaign continues to target high-intelligence-value individuals.

ThreatFabric discloses Datzbro Android banking trojan campaign
Initial DisclosureThreatFabric disclosed Datzbro, a previously undocumented Android banking trojan that targeted older adults through Facebook groups promoting AI-generated "active senior trips" in Australia and other regions, then lured prospective victims into Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp conversations that pushed fraudulent APK downloads and malicious community-app websites. The malware was described as capable of device takeover, remote control, overlay attacks, keylogging, audio recording, photo capture, file access, credential theft, and fraudulent transactions, with some lure infrastructure also containing placeholder iOS download links and TestFlight references.
