Google reports employment fraud as Android's top scam category
Technical Analysis UpdateGoogle said its August 2025 analysis of user-submitted reports found employment fraud was the most prevalent scam category, using fake job opportunities to steal personal and financial information; the same analysis said scam messages increasingly arrived in group chats to seem more legitimate and followed a distinct daily-and-weekly pattern with peaks around 5 a.m. PT, between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. PT, and on Mondays.
