Interpol coordinated Operation Sentinel, leading African law enforcers to arrest 574 suspects in a continent-wide cybercrime sweep that disrupted BEC, digital extortion, and ransomware activity. The month-long action ran from October 27 to November 27, 2025 and recovered $3m in alleged cybercrime proceeds. It also took down 6000 malicious links and decrypted six ransomware variants, reducing active criminal infrastructure across the continent. Interpol said the cases were linked to more than $21m in financial losses.
