Initial DisclosureCheck Point disclosed that it uncovered an AI-assisted investment fraud operation in October 2025 that uses unsolicited SMS, WhatsApp groups, Google Ads, Telegram, fake press releases, and AI-generated personas to lure victims into the fake OPCOPRO company and the O-PCOPRO app ecosystem. The scam builds trust with fabricated experts, group members, daily trade signals, and repeated validation before pushing victims toward crypto investments and collecting KYC-style identity data that could later support recovery fraud, helpdesk password-reset abuse, SIM swap attacks, and phishing of corporate logins and 2FA codes.
