Conduent disclosed a security breach affecting its IT systems between October 21, 2024 and January 13, 2025. Threat actors stole full names, Social Security Numbers, dates of birth, health insurance policy details, ID numbers, and medical information. The exposed data creates substantial identity theft and privacy risk for affected individuals. The incident is a direct compromise of a major business services provider with broad downstream exposure. Conduent has not yet determined the exact number of impacted individuals. The company has previously said the event affects 10.5 million people in Oregon and another 15.5 million in Texas. It is sending notifications on behalf of customers and offering identity monitoring, credit and dark web monitoring, and identity restoration for at least a year. Recipients are also being advised to consider fraud alerts or a security freeze on their credit reports.
