    Derrick Van Yeboah, a Ghanaian national, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and agreed to pay more than $10 million in restitution. Prosecutors said he was a high-ranking member of a large-scale fraud operation based in Ghana that targeted Americans between 2016 and May 2023 using business email compromise attacks and romance scams, stealing over $100 million from victims across the United States. They also said he personally conducted many of the romance scams and was linked to more than $10 million in losses.
