Apple expanded iOS 18.7.7 availability to more older iPhones and iPads on April 1, 2026, letting devices that stay on iOS 18 receive protections against the actively exploited DarkSword web attacks. The update now covers a much broader eligible device set, including iPhone XR through iPhone 16e and multiple iPad lines, via Automatic Updates. Apple said the DarkSword-related fixes first shipped in 2025, and the exploit kit was tied to six CVEs used against older devices.
