    Apple expanded iOS 18.7.7 availability to more older iPhone and iPad models on April 1, 2026 so devices staying on iOS 18 can automatically receive security protections against the actively exploited DarkSword exploit kit. The broadened coverage applies to users with Automatic Updates enabled and extends protection for older devices that were no longer getting newer iOS 26 upgrades.
