Google expands Gemini AI for malicious ad blocking
Initial DisclosureGoogle says it is expanding Gemini AI across Google Ads and other advertising platforms to detect and block malicious ads in real time, using signals such as advertiser behavior, account history, campaign patterns, and intent. The company says it blocked or removed 8.3 billion ads and suspended 24.9 million advertiser accounts in 2025, including 602 million scam ads, and that U.S. enforcement removed 1.7 billion ads and suspended 3.3 million advertiser accounts. Google also says AI has reduced incorrect advertiser suspensions by 80% and is being extended to more ad formats and enforcement systems.
