Legal Policy Action UpdateKejia Wang received 108 months in prison and Zhenxing Wang received 92 months in prison for helping North Korean remote IT workers use stolen identities, fake websites, shell companies such as Tony WKJ LLC, Hopana Tech LLC, and Independent Lab LLC, and hosted company-issued laptops to pose as U.S. residents and obtain work from more than 100 U.S. companies, including many Fortune 500 firms. Court documents say the scheme generated more than $5 million in illicit revenue for the DPRK government and about $3 million in financial damage to companies, and the pair had been charged in June 2025 in the same federal case.
