Microsoft released patches for Microsoft Defender Antimalware Platform version 4.18.26040.7 to address CVE-2026-41091, a link-following privilege-escalation flaw that can let an authorized attacker elevate privileges locally to System, and CVE-2026-45498, a denial-of-service flaw. Microsoft said both vulnerabilities were publicly disclosed and exploited in the wild as zero-days. CISA added both flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) list and urged federal agencies to patch them by June 3.

    Microsoft rolls out SharePoint fixes for CVE-2026-45659

    Mitigation Patch Update

    Microsoft rolled out updates for SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, SharePoint Server 2019, and SharePoint Enterprise Server 2016 to fix CVE-2026-45659, a CVSS 8.8 remote code execution flaw caused by deserialization of untrusted data in Microsoft Office SharePoint. Microsoft said an authenticated attacker with at least Site Member permissions could execute code over a network without administrator or other elevated privileges, and credited a researcher named MEOW with discovering and reporting the issue.
