Campaign Scope UpdateBlack Kite's 2026 European Cyber Risk Report found that ransomware attacks across Europe rose 55.1% year-over-year in the first four months of 2026, averaging 171 incidents per month. Qilin was the most common strain with 372 recorded incidents across 26 of 31 countries analyzed, followed by Akira with 159 incidents and SafePay with 80; manufacturing was the most targeted sector at 28% of all incidents, and over 30 incidents were traced to the August 2025 compromise of Swedish software supplier Miljödata.
