NCA warns parents over AI-generated child sexual abuse content

    Initial Disclosure

The National Crime Agency launched a public warning campaign about the risks of oversharing children’s photos and videos online, alongside written guidance on image consent, privacy settings, and reporting concerns to police or CEOP. The Internet Watch Foundation said AI-generated child sexual abuse videos rose 26,000% in 2025 to 3,440 from 13 in 2024, total AI-generated images and videos reached 8,029, and two-thirds of the material was Category A; it also said criminals targeted a UK school, stole pupils’ images from a school website, and used AI to create more than 100 sexual images for blackmail.
