Dutch police announce arrests in cross-border investment fraud case
Initial DisclosureDutch Police announced the arrest of multiple suspects tied to an international investment fraud scheme that operated since at least 2021, linked the organization to 20 call centers, more than 700 people posing as financial advisers, at least 550 fraud reports, and $28.6 million in reported losses, and said the scheme may have involved tens of thousands of victims worldwide. Authorities also said multiple Dutch and Belgian nationals were arrested in Cyprus, Greece, and Belgium between July 7 and 10 and that additional arrests should not be ruled out.
