NIST publishes RFI to modernize the National Vulnerability Database
Initial DisclosureNIST published a request for information on August 12 in the Federal Register to modernize the National Vulnerability Database for an evolving cybersecurity landscape shaped by AI and machine-consumable security data. The effort seeks improvements in scalability, automation, interoperability, transparency and utility, and reflects the current NVD flow in which CVE records are ingested within about an hour before analysts add severity scores and affected product versions.
