Brave browser 1.94 introduces Email Aliases and OPAQUE authentication
Initial DisclosureBrave browser 1.94 introduces Email Aliases so Brave users can create disposable addresses for new service sign-ups while keeping a real email hidden and still forwarding messages. To use the feature, users must create a free Brave Account and register a primary email address, and Brave says Brave Accounts uses OPAQUE (RFC 9807) to authenticate users without transmitting passwords or hashes to its servers. Brave also stores the primary address and generated aliases in encrypted state, filters forwarded messages for spam and malware, deletes messages from its servers within seconds after delivery, limits the free tier to five aliases, and plans a future Premium tier that will remove that restriction.
