AIR Security launches AIR firewall for AI agents with $50 million funding
Initial DisclosureAIR Security emerges from stealth with $50 million in funding led by Sequoia Capital and Greenoaks and introduces AIR, a firewall for AI agents that evaluates skills, plugins, MCP servers, and add-ons before and after deployment. The company says its research found more than 17,800 public AI add-ons representing 6.7M installations that rely on untrusted external instruction sources, and that AI Skills in the wild impersonate Anthropic and OpenAI to bypass security reviews and execute arbitrary code.
