The data also says 66% of schools can now recover immediately, up from 55% in the prior academic year, while critical damage from attacks has fallen to 7%. Despite the gains, the sector still shows capability gaps, with cybersecurity often treated as a tech-team issue and many schools yet to put in place preventative measures such as policy, risk assessments, and backup and recovery procedures.
