Global organizations expanding AI agents into identity security operations
Target Trend

Global organizations are rapidly expanding AI agents into identity security tasks, increasing the risk of privileged compromise across password resets, VPN access, and other sensitive workflows. In a survey of 1,100 organizations across eight countries, 93% said they use or plan to use agents, while 92% already have AI on some local machines with access to SSH and encryption keys. The pattern matters because only 32% are very confident they could regain control after an AI-driven credential exposure, and 74% expect AI to increase attacks on identity infrastructure.

Global organizations adopt AI agents for identity security tasks
Initial DisclosureGlobal organizations use or plan to use AI agents for sensitive security work such as password resets and VPN access, while many also allow AI on local machines with access to SSH and encryption keys. The survey findings highlight weak identity governance for AI identities, with only 65% fully registering, authenticating and authorizing them, 6% not tracking them at all, and only 32% very confident they could regain control after an AI-driven credential exposure.
