NUKIB warns Czech critical infrastructure to avoid Chinese technology
Initial DisclosureThe Czech Republic's National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NUKIB) instructed critical infrastructure organizations to avoid using Chinese technology and to avoid transferring user data to servers located in China unless there is a reasonable justification. NUKIB said the practice poses a significant cybersecurity threat, re-evaluated China-related disruption risk as High, and told covered entities to include the threat in risk analysis and apply mitigations. The agency also said it has confirmed malicious Chinese cyber-actor activity targeting the Czech Republic, including a recent APT31 campaign against the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and broadened its warning to consumer devices such as smartphones, IP cameras, electric cars, large language models, medical devices, and photovoltaic converters manufactured by Chinese firms.
