Initial DisclosureNatWest Bank and the UK’s National Crime Agency launched a joint campaign on 2026-01-30 to warn businesses and individuals about invoice fraud and business email compromise, where fraudsters impersonate suppliers, intercept emails, and push convincing urgent-payment requests into accounts they control. The guidance tells recipients to check for changes to invoice and bank details, verify any change by calling the genuine supplier on a previously used phone number, and never transfer money until the details are confirmed; Action Fraud also said 83 reported victims in September 2025 lost an average of £47,000 each, for almost £4m in total.
