The NCSC Share and Defend service has blocked almost one billion scam website access attempts in less than a year, showing large-scale disruption of malicious site reach through ISP DNS filtering. The service matters because it stops UK users from reaching known harmful domains before a phishing email, scam text, or fraudulent ad can cause damage. The rollout, first introduced in May 2024, includes partners such as BT and other ISPs. The announcement also signals continued use of shared threat intelligence to harden consumer and business access paths.
